I have been into permanent retraction for about six years. Now if I pull my foreskin forward, it feels weird. Being pulled back feels normal. Why is that so? Do you have a similar experience?

Whenever my foreskin is rolled forward I would feel uncomfortable and have the urge to pull it backwards immediately.

Urge is a good word and I wonder what causes this urge: muscle memory, a habit, nerves in dry inner foreskin or addiction to the constant stimulation:-) Will it subside if one stops retracting or is it more permanent? I've noticed that now I keep pulling back mostly because of this urge. It kinda feels right and good.

For me it is not so much an urge. It is more that I do not feel my glans in my free balling pants when my skin slips forward. Which gives me a nice, penis aware feeling all day. In the past, covered and tucked away in underwear, in the day I would almost forget I had a penis. It would only appear for peeing or sex. Now I simply miss the pleasant feeling of my bare glans rubbing in my loose pants. As if there is always some soft background music on.

I like this opinion and I have to say that I love the idea very much. I would like to follow up with a question. I don't practice bare glans constantly, rather occasionally, because I like the feeling you describe, but the result is a semi/erection. Does this feeling change to only pleasant/noticeable with long-term retracting?

Yes, it does. Gradually you'll get used to the feeling. From loud performance it will change to soft background music. I just think why I don't want to be on a quiet room of covered state.

Instead of having very sensitive stimulation whenever my glans is exposed (like loud music),
Now my glans is constantly exposed and in diredt contact with my shorts (I don't own a pair of underwear )

Yeah- that is an excellent analogy.

I started retracting about 21 years ago, and at first, it was like a blaring noise that was crazy intrusive.  I'd go so far as to say that at times it was absolutely annoying (Like someone was backing a huge truck up, with their warning beeper blaring.) But somewhere along the way, it became more "ambient."

I think it was about a decade ago that I started to feel as if something was missing, or "muted" when I let my foreskin slide back down. I started pulling back as much as possible around then - but it was still a tad annoying, when walking or running (all the more so initially, after I ditched underwear entirely, because it kept pulling my foreskin back down.)

I daresay that these days, the skin that used to be my inner foreskin (that I now think of as "shaft skin") will give a bit of a twinge, and I am probably still far more sensitive down there than someone who had their foreskin ripped off when they were an infant.

That having been said, I couldn't imagine it any other way.

Why does pulled back state feels right? Maybe because this shaft skin has new characteristics and it functions better in a retracted state.

Well-while over time and as keratinization occurs, there is a change in the composition & thickness of the exposed inner foreskin, but the cells are replaced by copies of their own (ie - foreskin cells will continue to be replaced with their clones - rarely is it the case that one kind of cell is replaced by another.) That part of your penile shaft skin will continue to produce smegma, but as it is now exposed, it will tend to be shed more readily. (Understand: cut guys still produce smegma, as well.)

Why it feels right?  it's just a matter of personal preference.  For me, I think it's more comfortable, because with my foreskin back, my flaccid penis is an inch longer.  I think my foreskin was essentially pushing my penis back into my body, and now that internal pressure is gone.

Definitely agree. Fortunately mine stays back with little attention, but if it does roll forward it feels so wrong.

Agree I used to keep mine back all the time. Then I had a partner who wasn't keen and fell off the horse.

Now I'm back and loving it.
