Hi retractors. It seems well established that permanent retraction was a cultural practice in Japan at one point in history.

Does anyone know of any instructional documentation that we could try and translate? I'm imagining if it was a engrained practice, then there's probably some instructional materials that existed and passed down to continue and spread the practice. Also there may be some technique and approach which we all might find helpful.

Also, are there any other cultures that we know of which have also practiced permanent retraction? I've only ever heard the Japanese culture cited.
