News:

A forum for people interested in keeping the foreskin pulled back — be it for fun, for health reasons or anything else: Let's share experience, methods, stories and all that about our pulled back foreskins.

NB. This is not a circumcision support group. While there's no problem with cut guys, this isn't your place to live out your foreskin removal fetish — plenty of forums for that elsewhere.

Other than that: please read the Readme in the readme forum, write an intro... have fun I guess? :)

Retraction in Japan. Conversation with a Japanese Masseuse

I learned from a Japanese masseuse that foreskin retraction is called "miemuki" in Japan. Adult men were supposed to miemuki (retract foreskin to expose entire glans) before taking cloths off in front of woman. Miemuki was a traditional custom in Japanese culture. Glans covered with foreskin is called "hokei". Displaying hokei (intact penis) to any woman, including wife, was very shameful. This is why traditionally Japanese boys were taught to retract foreskin during puberty.

I was in Singapore last week where I had a full body massage from a middle-aged Japanese masseuse at a massage parlor. I am permanently retracted for 25+ years, but most woman think I had non-standard circumcision (including my wife until I told her). She however recognized my retracted status without me giving her any hint. She was very surprised that I maintain bare glans by foreskin retraction. She has not seen any retracted man from outside of Japan!

She also mentioned that the old tradition of training retraction is no longer a common practice in Japan. Most boys either stay intact or mothers take pre-puberty boys to get circumcised at cosmetic surgery clinics in the local malls. Circumcision is performed by using laser. She joked boys become man in half-an-hour on a Sunday morning at a clinic. In the old days, achieving permanent miemuki used to take years of training.

I find the story a bit strange.  Sure, retracting has kind of gone out of fashion.  If you go on certain XXX sites with non-professional content and look at the Japanese uploaders, you'll still find younger guys (20s~30s) who seem to be keeping the skin back most, if not all the time, but a lot of them will have the skin on the head the way you'll see it on most Europeans.  Older guys much much more likely to have the knob out.

But I've definitely not seen any significant amount of circumcised guys among them.  It looks like it's become rarer in South Korea too, thankfully, and there's a ton of foreskins in the 20s cohort there.  There's an odd amount of Chinese young adults who are cut though, and I'm not really sure how that happened.

Is it me, or does this read like some sort of fan fiction?

Well, his origin story was also interesting, featuring a japanese nurse.

You're encouraged to read his other posts for a conclusion :D

It was a real conversation with a Japanese masseuse. I posted what she told me in her broken English. I never heard the words miemuki or hokei before.

Not a story. I was suffering from frequent relapse of UTIs in my early 20s. I had mild phimosis, but adult circumcision wasn't common in Europe, and our national health insurance wouldn't cover the cost. My urologist's nurse advised me to practice retraction. It took a long time to achieve complete retraction. After training for about a year and half my glans was permanently out. It wasn't an enjoyable process. Throughout the training, I had to refrain from sex, wear a plastic ring to hold the foreskin behind the glans, and always wear tight briefs to hold and support the exposed glans. I had to pull down the brief to urinate. And for several months, urine will come out like a shower due to the pressure from rolled-back foreskin. I am grateful to the Japanese nurse who was supportive and available to answer my questions, evaluate my progress. My UTIs resolved along the way.
