I ask because I recall that when I first started keeping my foreskin retracted, it took me quite a while before I actually did it at a public shower. It's ironic that it took me so long to leave the head exposed in public, since the whole thing started because I wanted to look like the other boys. After seeing some of your pictures I realize that many of you simply look circumcised, if there isn't too much foreskin bunched up at the ridge. In my case, it would have been very obvious that I was pulling it back to expose it, and I wasn't confident enough as a teen to do so in public. Nowadays, I would pull it back in public just so everyone could see my bared glans.
Any thoughts?
And BTW...can you actually tell the difference between a loose circumcision and a retracted foreskin? I know that if it's a tight circumcision it's kinda obvious, since there's no skin bunching up.
Having never been in a "public nudity" situation, I can't really answer that part. But telling whether someone is a retractor or is loosely cut can be really, really hard. Certain circumcisions have the scar kind of embedded within the folds of remaining skin and it blends in so well that it really does just look like a short/retracted foreskin.
It's interesting that in so many cases it's hard to tell if it's circumcised or just pulled back. Ironically, when I had it pulled back it was obvious because of all the foreskin bunching up at the ridge (because the frenulum kept it right up against the glans), and now it's obvious because my circumcision is very tight and the scar is visible...I would post a pic, but I suspect penises with foreskins aren't allowed...

In the days before I retracted 24/7, I always used to ensure my foreskin was pulled back if I knew I should be anywhere it would be seen - changing rooms, communal showers, etc. Somehow the bare glans made me feel more nude, and also more mature. (Don't ask why, I have no idea!) Also, it attracted looks, as bare helmets are comparatively rare in the UK. Most men who asked assumed I was circumcised: they had never heard of retracting.

I've kept my skin back for decades, looks and feels great. For any looking, at a glance in showers or having a pee, looks circumcised. Most UK guys not circumcised yet on nudist beach , not see many foreskins. Maybe, like me, get an all-over tan !!!
AND for others to SEE that I have retracted my foreskin .... => usually a semi swinging as I walk
Maybe this is weird, but I actually found keeping the foreskin retracted in public even more erotic that being circumcised...
I began retracting when still at school but never showed or discussed it with anyone else. About 25 years ago I used to go to some Victorian "Turkish baths" at the local swimming pool. I noticed that quite a few of the guys had their glans exposed most of the time but few were cut. It was not unusual for someone to go to the shower or come out of the cold plunge pool with the foreskin fully covering the head and adjust it by pulling the skin back when going into the sauna or steamroom. This gave me the confidence to do the same thing. I keep the skin back in public most of the time. In the gym changing room and on nudist beaches.
Its definitely pretty common on nude beaches in Europe with British, Spanish and Greek men. Mostly its guys 50+ but I've seen a few younger guys do it when they see others.

When I first went into public showers after gym I rolled the foreskin over the head again (which was surprisingly difficult - maybe because my foreskin already got shortened a bit from years of sustained retraction) because I never saw someone in Germany with his foreskin pulled back on purpose (and I didn't want to be the strange guy everybody looks at). Well, I also washed the penis whilst pulling the foreskin back to wash the glans. Now I always go into public with the foreskin pulled back as people seem to tread it like it's normal.

Dito in Germany. Of those British I've observed in showers or on nudist beaches I'd say the proportion of cut guys is around 20-25%. Around 5-10% of uncut skin back some or all of the time when on the beach. I have seen many guys go into the water with the head covered and come out with glans in full view so they have obviously adjusted when in the water. Many will then let it slip forward as they sit back down but some do keep it back.

Germans are pretty strange about that. Some of us find it provocating when someone walks around retracted on nudist beaches. Don't know why.
I have had some connections with British, Spanish and Dutch men and there are quite a few that have a retracted foreskin. I've observed a few Greeks which may not be sufficient to claim that they don't usually retract their foreskin. It's interesting about the Germans not so much.
I do recall that when we were on Folegandros in Greece in 2001, at the nude beach for ten days, I never once saw an exposed glans. I didn't notice, but my wife claims that my exposed glans got checked out quite a bit. Perhaps because of more info available on the internet more people are retracting their foreskins in public...
I am retracted 24/7, so I am exposed in public. The gym I go to has an open changing area so it's not uncommon to see other men nude. Almost all have a bare glans and since I'm I the USA, their status is most likely due to being circumcised. Once in a while another uncut comes inane they usually retract and keep it that way while changing.
I feel the same, it is others seeing that I am showing my bare head for any looking who might also find this exciting. THAT is the turn-on for me.

I totally agree with you. Now that I'm circumcised, I don't get the same turn on being seen in public as I did when I had the foreskin retracted. It's the retraction that's the turn on...
and any looking to SEE that I am retracted because doing so excites ME .... hence the almost permanent semi when 'showing' ;)

I've always done as much as I can to shown mine off. I kept mine skinned back from an early age and after the first few months it stayed back permanently. I chose circumcision as an adult and I got a PA piercing a little later. In public places - urinals and such - I've always made sure that my exposed glans is clearly visible to anyone who might care to look and I always have a good look at the guy I'm standing next to. If he's not showing an exposed glans I feel disappointed. My circumcision scar is quite prominent as adult ones tend to be and I make sure it's visible too. I wear a stainless steel ring in my PA and never try to hide it. Sometime I wear a similar ring just behind the rim of my glans too - i never needed one to keep my foreskin back but I like wearing one for the weight and because it catches the eye. I usually have at least a semi-erection when I'm standing at the urinal. I must say that I don't usually go to the public toilet just to piss.

If I'm in a situation where I am going to be exposed, I definitely have it retracted. I've had guys just assume without asking that I'm cut. I actually would feel self-conscious if I didn't have my skin retracted. And if someone's going to see it, I want them to see all of it :P
Well i do. There is nothing to be ashamed about, i go to swimming bath's and on nudest beaches when i am abroad, and it is just natural. leave it as it is, not many pull back that i have seen, but i do.
I have always made sure I was retracted if I am going to be in a situation where someone may see me. Being from the US, it is so much more common for men to be circumcised, it just makes me feel more masculine to let the head show. I definitely always retract in a open shower or changing room and I always retract before urinating anywhere. I even try to always be retracted in front of my wife, even though she knows that I am uncut.

To be honest I think my package including pulled back foreskin and shaved ballbag is more attractive than it was before.
Friends (male and female) who have seen me naked say the same.
This gives me more safety and minimizes any shame in locker rooms, public shower and even at the (female) doctor.
And I´m lucky to say: Whenever I undress my briefs, it´s pulled back for sure!!
I also make sure its retracted before anyone in public can see it. Especially in the Sauna and public bath showers I would feel embarrassed if someone couldn`t see my head. Sounds strange. In the sauna i usually use the fold-in method but if it loosens i try to fix it as fast as possible so no one ever sees im actually uncut. And i have to admit watching other people obviously taking note of my bare head makes me proud. Living in germany where its relatively the norm to have a foreskin, makes you special when wearing it behind.
My culture is not one where others would be able to see that much of yourself, even in dressing rooms. Not a gym person so I don't know about gyms here, but in swimming pools they have separate one-man cubicles for taking showers and dressing up.
But I do try to retract whenever I can, just not as much when I go out since I tend to check mine a lot. Sometimes I mistake the feeling where I thought the skin is rolling forward among all the rubbings happening inside my pants.

Yes agreed it is difficult to tell. I have been on a beach with mine pulled back and i can say friends who were with me who are cut thought i was as well.
I do and why not. if i go to the swimming bath's or doctors, or go to the nude beach in the summer, it's always pulled back as it is now. again, why not.
I'm covered maybe 20% of the time. So when I go to the gym before work I will occasionally be covered as I head to the showers but will always be retracted as I leave the showers.
Can't say anyone has ever noticed, or at least not said anything anyway. There are a few other guys who do this too I've noticed.

Feels great, and I feel a lot more comfortable being seen. Funny because I live in a majority uncut country, but ive always found the bare head masculine. Probably because my dad is cut. Anyway I don't think I'd ever go back to skinned, especially at the pool, onsen etc.

I was at a nude volleyball night recently and saw a number of uncut guys, but didn't see any who retracted. I guess retracting is not really all that common, even though the members here are obviously into it.
I stay retracted in public settings such as showers etc, and being nudist I have been seen on beaches etc with my foreskin retracted. As others have stated their is an eroticism to the exposed glans being seen and in seeing others.
Anytime, anywhere. It's how it is, and how it looks, so far as I am concerned.
I use the spoon method and most days the simply pulled back method.
When I'm naked in a public setting I'll always have my glans on display as I feel fully naked having it exposed.
Having your glans out makes people look at you more which has done wonders for my confidence when nude.
