Not sure if this has been posted before - apols if so. A long (long - 291 posts) thread on pulling back http://www.topix.com/forum/news/sex/T25SQHO0N5V5RC8C3; original post June 2010, and its still active - last post 7 Sept this year. Much pro, several anti, but interesting reading.

Two later posts are interesting (my emphases):

My boyfriend has a bare penis head. The skin is quite loose so I think it's probably retracted rather than circumcised but we've never really discussed it. I've come across guys like this before, I think it's quite common. I prefer it to skin covering the head.

You're right, it's not unusual, many of the guys I've known just leave it uncovered like a loose circumcision. I think that if the skin is already ice and loose at puberty, as their penis grows bigger boys often just let the skin roll back.
Pulled back for about 20 years, circumcised in 2013. Real men have bare helmets!!!
