News:

A forum for people interested in keeping the foreskin pulled back — be it for fun, for health reasons or anything else: Let's share experience, methods, stories and all that about our pulled back foreskins.

NB. This is not a circumcision support group. While there's no problem with cut guys, this isn't your place to live out your foreskin removal fetish — plenty of forums for that elsewhere.

Other than that: please read the Readme in the readme forum, write an intro... have fun I guess? :)

Major changes pre- and post- retraction

If you are retracted full-time for 3+ months (or every night for 6+ months), what significant changes (physical, sexual, psychological, etc.) you experience pre- and post- retraction? Based on your experience, do you think retraction a safe and healthy practice for adult intact men? Are you happy with your changed status?

Our experience could be useful to those who want bare glans but unsure what comes at the end. I wish I had some knowledge of what to expect when I started retracting. I will post my answers.

Bigger, flared glans. Different orgasms - takes more effort and more intense when you think of it. Hornier and distracted by my penis more than before

Been pulled back permanently for about 3 years. The first significant change is that my head is much more flared. My foreskin never rolls forward any more which is perfect. When I'm hard it's difficult to even make my foreskin roll over my head. When I masturbate I have no issues with my foreskin rolling forward, and I never use it anymore.

I think as I now masturbate more like a cut guy my frenulum has also stretched meaning I can pull back much further. In terms of sensitivity I have definitely lost that uncomfortable sensation and while I do feel my head brushing inside clothing it's a pleasant feeling. I can now directly stimulate my glans, and do this frequently as it's very pleasing.

I can last longer during sex and cleanliness is much better.

The same for me, my head is flared, the corona is thicker than before. I like this change.

Can y'all please explain what you mean by "flared"? Not a native speaker, sorry... does this mean a change of shape, color...? Thanks, I'm curious!

It means that the edge of the glans is enlarged, especially the coronal ridge.

There is no good science on this subject. No good research. All we have is sharing our personal experiences.

There are, thus, no good explanations about why we have foreskins. Whether we need them. Or why not.

It becomes even more fascinating when, on a conservative estimate, over 200.000 male orgasms happen on the planet. Per second. Masturbated or not. As it is an electrical process, if we'd all be fitted with antennas, it would produce a 200 kilohertz signal that you could almost detect on AM radio.

Yet even that is just theoretical. There is no proof. (But pretty sure here I am not far from reality on this one!  ;) )

So about whether it is safe, or ok, to permanently retract, there is no good advice. Personally I had the pleasure to encounter more penises in my life then only just mine. They all were similar but not identical. And I don't just mean in length. But even that is not good research. I mostly had other things on my mind during encounters  ;D But what feels fine for some might not feel fine for you.

I am very happy retracted. No more over sensitivity. A slightly bigger glans. But then there are other moments when I like to cover up. To recover. Or not to be penis aware all the time. As life is not always all about penis.

I would say glans exposure is healthy for a male and is down to personal preference.

Before my glans was pink, "rounded" in shape and sexually was sensitive.

Now my glans is more purple in colour, "bell shaped" with a more prominent coronal ridge flare and is less sensitive.

Orgasms are different. Takes longer and more stronger than before.

Difficult Time

For me, getting to the point where I could be comfortable with a bared head was a real challenge (hence my username), but I agree with others about the changes. The appearance of the glans is darkened and widened (flared) significantly. This, by the way, was a more significant advantage than I had expected, since my wife says she can feel it moving inside of her when we have sex, which she likes a lot, and which she says she never felt before I became bared 24/7. The super-smooth outer surface of the glans became more dried-looking (for obvious reasons), but still feels super soft and smooth to the tough (again, a focus of comments from my wife).

But the best changes were those others have mentioned. Being able to be stimulated (even a little roughly) directly on the glans is a huge improvement, and my orgasms, though they take longer to achieve (as advantage, again, as far as my wife is concerned), are much more intense. Just the sensations of direct stimulation to the glans are so much more intense, but not now painful or too much, the way they used to be. I assumed I would eventually stop noticing being touched and rubbed by clothing and such, but even though that stopped being uncomfortable (with rare exceptions), I still notice, even though it has now been many years that I have lived with a bared glans. I like it--it reminds me of my "before and after" and also makes me feel more sexualized. I certainly enjoy sex much more now. I have noticed that getting oral sex is not as crazy stimulating as it was before. That could be age, but I think it is actually a result of being not so sensitive. On the other hand, the slightest touch of a tooth during oral sex used to ruin things for me, now, it can actually be a nice momentary zing.

Hygienically, the positives are obvious. I really hated smegma and the smell that would develop inside my foreskin, and washing before sex was always  a bit awkward.

The only negative is that sometimes I can feel a little discomfort around my meatus. I found that more common early on, but very rare now that years have passed.

I have similar outcomes. My exposed glans developed into mushroom shaped bell with smooth corona, thick and dry skin, visibly inflated, and purple colored. Glans became completely (100%) desensitized after about 2 years of permanent exposure. Location of my orgasm shifted from glans to under my rolled-back foreskin behind the corona. My foreskin-ring and intact flenum are tight and sensitive. During oral sex, I ask the lady to roll her tongue around corona to stimulate my ejaculation. I take long time to ejaculate but my ejaculation is forceful and satisfying. I cannot have multiple orgasm. My penis turns soft after a forceful ejaculation. I get strong and rigid erection, but my penis now curves right slightly (perhaps due to tension between my flenum, rolled back foreskin, and exposed glans).

Some of my concerns are: Although I trained retracting in my early 20s, but my body took very long time, more than 2 years, to fully accept to the status change, from foreskin tightly covering glans to permanently wearing the entire foreskin behind exposed glans. My glans was reasonably desensitized and flared-up within the first 6 months. But sometimes my foreskin will roll forward if I don't use the support of plastic rings. Its frequency decreased over time. But during my first year of training, I needed to visit toilet several times a day just to pull my foreskin back. In my experience the friction between underwear and bare glans help it to desensitize and adapt, but the friction also stimulate the glans to get erection and/or emit per-ejaculation fluid. That is why Japanese tradition was to train retraction 2-3 years pre-puberty.

Like most of you, I don't have a circumcision ring on my penis. Bare glans with no circumcision ring surprised many woman. The nerve endings on my intact foreskin are highly sensitive. I think having the sensitive nerve endings on foreskin is a real health benefit of retraction over circumcision. Another health benefit of retraction is: it is fully reversible if desired (or necessary).

Retraction feels like a safe practice. But, based on my experience, it takes a long time-commitment and many challenges to achieve natural (support-free) permanent retraction. My wife and I both believe bare glans is significantly healthier than covered glans for adult men. But permanent retraction is probably not the best option for every man.
