News:

A forum for people interested in keeping the foreskin pulled back — be it for fun, for health reasons or anything else: Let's share experience, methods, stories and all that about our pulled back foreskins.

NB. This is not a circumcision support group. While there's no problem with cut guys, this isn't your place to live out your foreskin removal fetish — plenty of forums for that elsewhere.

Other than that: please read the Readme in the readme forum, write an intro... have fun I guess? :)

Curiosity question. Why do we have a glans.

Just curious about opinions. Why the shape. What does it do there on the top of my penis. I can easily cum without it. What was the general idea of the designer of the original penis? Do not get me wrong. I like it a lot. Especially when exposed all day. But why this particular design. Any thoughts? Who came up with these blueprints and why? Everything would function without it, so why was it so carefully designed and we all have one? The shape of my ear, eye or nose, I understand. But what about my glans.

I once read that the ridge of helmet was shaped to scrape other mens seaman out of the vagina :o

I think that there is some truth in that actually, I remember seeing it on a documentary many years ago!

I'm glad I'm not the only one who knew that strange nugget of information ;D

Any ring you buy on alibaba would scrape better. ;-) I know the scraper theory but still think it is not the full story. Why and WTF are we all walking around with that, first hypersensitive, cherry on the top of our dicks? I mean, I am very happy with mine. But who put it there and why? ;-) I could make the whole neighborhood pregnant without it.

Possibly for prolonged love-making to aid the pair bonding process.

In order to answer definitively though, we would need to study penises in ways never done before. Like hooking people and animals up to brain scanners and observing the similarities and differences in the responses

keratinise

If I had to guess the glans forms part of a mechanism designed to encourage intercourse for the purpose of procreation and make it easier for men to be stimulated enough to ejaculate. I believe the shaft is typically smaller than the glans to help provide the glans with a more prominent surface area, noticeably larger than the shaft, therefore leading to a greater area of stimulation during sex. The foreskin exists to help protect the glans and retain its sensitivity during the periods when sexual intercourse isn't being engaged in, and to retain as much of the glans and its own sensitive as possible to aid in sexual stimulation.

Primates are not monogamous; they are highly promiscuous. The glans pushes your semen further into the vagina and scrapes the other chaps' out on the outstroke... Theoretically this means you father more offspring and your gene pool is extended further...

Also, just thinking about it further... without a glans, where would we have got the inspiration in order to design luxury sports cars, spacecraft, bullet trains, postmodern tower blocks, sword hilts, red pillar boxes, British telephone kiosks, most 1990s kitchen appliances....

I've heard this mentioned many times, but honestly, I don't really see it

I think the slight flexibility of the glans tip may have a purpose. Wondered about this for awhile. Even when were fully hard, theres a little bit of flex. Havent really compared this with other guys, but in porn it looks like all guys have this slight flex at the tip.

You mean subliminal messages in design. I think you have a good point there. Just like a coca cola bottle is a covered penis. Or an orthodox church tower. There is some similarity between a glans and a nice bum. Of any gender. There is a click with lips too. In the shape. We might indeed have such a glans because it sells better.

Interesting topic. Perhaps our interest in the glans is why we're here to begin with. Showing off our glans, by keeping our foreskin retracted or through circumcision?

I'm surmise that there are male mammals with an undefined glans on their penis? The only one I can think of at the moment is the lipsticks dogs have but I'm sure there may be others.

If I am casually observing other males while taking a shower at the gym, I must admit my focal point will run towards the glans whether it's covered or not. I'm drawn to determine if it's large, wide, thin or small along with the many other features depending on what I find appealing in a glans. I know that I'm drawn to mushroom types of glans as they seem to have a more prominent coronal ridge. I do also believe that there was some evolutionary involvement on how we developed a very distinct and defined glans no matter what size. It's well defined. I am quite happy to have one.

The best collection to see, there is an official penis museum in Iceland about all animals. The most amazing is how different they all are among species. And then the why do we have this particular type of helmet on it question comes up. Why the design. Why the over sensitivity at first. Why the foreskin. There must be reasons because the design did not change over many evolution centuries.
